Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Storybook when you use the app.

Last updated: June 6, 2026.

Template — review before launch. This is a starting point, not legal advice. Have a professional review and adapt it (jurisdiction, refunds, company details) before you accept users or payments.

1. Acceptance

By using Storybook you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. The service

Storybook lets you read narrated storybooks, write your own, and share them privately. Reading the bundled stories and reading a book someone shares with you are free and require no account.

3. Your account

Writing or sharing requires signing in with your email via a magic link. Keep access to your email secure — anyone who can open the link can access your account.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the books, text, and images you create. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to provide the service to you and the people you share with. You're responsible for what you create and share, and you confirm you have the right to use any text or images you upload and to send books to the recipients you choose.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use Storybook to create or share content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, harassing, or abusive, and don't use private sharing to send unwanted messages. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.

6. Paid features

If paid authoring is enabled, you can buy a one-time story credit or a subscription through Stripe to create books. Credits are consumed when a book is created. Subscriptions renew until canceled, and you can cancel any time to stop future renewals. Except where required by law, payments for consumed credits or elapsed subscription periods are non-refundable. Reading and receiving shared books always remains free.

7. Availability

We aim to keep Storybook running but may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Storybook and its operators aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost content or data, arising from your use of the app.

9. Termination

You can stop using Storybook and request deletion of your data at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; we'll change the date above and, for significant changes, note it in the app. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [your jurisdiction] (set before launch).

12. Contact
